Track Shelving Faux Fireplace

More Pinterest-y stuff as I try to reclaim Christmas this year.

This is a Use What You Have project and what I had was a wall full of track shelving.

What I wanted was a fireplace. A mantel to decorate for Christmas, complete with stockings.

This is what I started with. Sort of. This was last Christmas and the shelves were all in the same spots.

I loved it last year, but this year it felt like too much. The one thing I want for my house right now is Calm.

So, one day, on a whim, I pulled everything off the wall.

This is why I love track shelving. I can change it whenever I want.

At this point, I remembered that I had an old tv collecting dust in a back room and pulled that out.

Bam! Fireplace. A smoke free fireplace.

Yeah, there’s a pile of junk off the side. Probably children just out of frame, too. And let’s not even discuss what the other side of the room probably looked like at this point. Or now.

And one of those shelves is now filled with the Gingerbread House Advent Calendar as well.

I love this wall now. In the mornings, I can get up early and sit with my coffee between the Christmas tree and fireplace. It’s such a nice way to start the day.
